  • Position Summary:

    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will serve as an engineering & manufacturing subject matter expert for RGBSI A&D across various programs requiring product design and development knowledge. Your knowledge and expertise will be widely applied across RGBSI A&D's broad client base from various industry domains such as aerospace, automotive, other defense sectors. You will provide thought leadership around new technologies and methodologies while working with RGBSI A&D clients in defining future state for their engineering and manufacturing strategies. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and processes involved in manufacturing.
    As a key member of the RGBSI Aerospace & Defense Customer Engagement Team, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for executing against key milestones and deliverable timelines. This role requires client-facing interaction with project teams in meeting aggressive timelines and delivering effective client solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and innovation of RGBSI A&D branded solutions and offerings to be used across DoD and commercial industry sectors
    • Review drawing requirements for manufacturability and troubleshoot design impacts on manufacturing
    • Reverse engineer components and develop CAD models as needed to support digital twin solutions for manufacturing planning
    • Review and provide guidance on manufacturers' Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans to identify / assess design and manufacturing risks
    • Conduct and review analyses of part production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to better understand future requirements needed for customers' manufacturing processes
    • Work with clients' supply chain partners to evaluate the reliability and repeatability of manufacturing process capabilities in alignment with AIAG / AS9145 principles
    • Perform accurate / professional documentation and presentation of technical data, analyses, and reports
    • Contribute to the technical execution of projects around focus areas of Industry 4.0 / Digital Factory / Model Based Enterprise / Advanced Manufacturing / Additive Manufacturing
    • Review manufacturing instructions, methods, and processes to identify and improve customer efficiency
    • Develop process strategy documentation outlining the technical and process changes and analyses
    • Support active feedback between customers and the RGBSI A&D team to drive improvements
    • Partner effectively with RGBSI A&D project/ program management, technical team, and customer to deliver according to agreed plans and schedules
    • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues as they arise and initiate corrective actions
    • Ability to manage deliverables and execute tasks on schedule with minimal oversight
    • Work with end-user groups to evaluate and solve technical problems

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 years related engineering experience
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
    • Experience in CAD using PTC Creo, Siemens NX, or Dassault Catia
    • Expertise in GD&T
    • Experience with assembly and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace parts
    • Experience with design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and cost
    • Demonstrated time management and project management skills
    • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and work with business and technical stakeholders
    • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influential skills
    • Availability for travel to customer locations as required; estimated at up to 50% - client dependent

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with static, thermal, and modal Finite Element Analyses
    • Understanding of PPAP through PPAP Level 5
    • LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process certifications
    • Experience with Project Planning tools, such as MS Project
