Summary:

Dometic Marine’s facility in Pompano Beach, FL manufactures heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems for sport fishing, pleasure boats, and commercial markets. 

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and driving continuous improvement as well as making investigations into future technologies and return on investment studies. You will be working in close cooperation with the rest of the team as well as with operators, engineers and other organizations. 

Requirements

 Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and/or source as well as cost-justify various machinery, equipment, and fixtures for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Perform end-to-end planning of manufacturing processes including layout, flow, assembly methods, cycle times, equipment, and related manufacturing costs.
• Troubleshoot production problems and implement effective corrective actions that address the root cause.
• Support Product Development in evaluation of new product designs with focus on design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Create, implement, and maintain supporting documentation such as operator work instructions, PFMEA’s and process requirements. 
• Train production team members in new products and manufacturing methods.
• Support the Quality department in investigations and problem solving in response to customer complaints.
• Participate in, support and/or lead kaizen events, problem solving workshops and similar activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 2 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and concise way and present them to both production personnel as well as management. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Experience in CAD software (we use Solidworks)
• Experience in GD&T and reading drawings.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, cutting, forming, and joining is desired.
• Experience in design, execution, install and support of manufacturing equipment such as fixtures, lifts and other machinery.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and lean tools. 
• Experience in problem solving, root cause analysis, data gathering and analysis.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus.
• Experience in industrial spray-painting processes is a plus.
