Job Summary -
An Application Engineer at Duke works on new products or to improve existing ones and uses their understanding of technology, materials, and manufacturing methods to improve the design and usability of an item. Their work could involve designing, modeling, testing, and/or producing prototypes when appropriate. Working alongside engineers, manufacturing, product managers, and commercial team, they conduct research and devise a design proposal for projects. They have direct contact and interaction with key customer decision makers.
The Application Engineer is responsible for connecting current Duke Equipment standards, customer needs, and value-stream strategic objectives during the business development process. This includes the conversion of customer needs to features and ensuring the overall value-to-value exchange with the customer is understood and present. In addition they will serve as the technical resource to their assigned value-stream.
