Manufacturing Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively. Being a Manufacturing Engineer Manager is responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Reviews, evaluates and implements engineering changes and specification requirements. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Engineer Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Engineer Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Provides manufacturing information by answering questions and requests. Maintains product and company reputations by complying with government regulations. Understands, and has the ability to apply the principals of Lean Manufacturing and Kanban. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs and entering data. Completes design and development projects by training and guiding operating personnel. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales, management, and manufacturing personnel. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Manages the design, development, and completion of assigned capital improvement projects according to project timelines and budgets. Maintains product and process databases. Qualifications: Ability to apply the principals of Lean Manufacturing. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and priorities management skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
