Manufacturing Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively. Being a Manufacturing Engineer Manager is responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Reviews, evaluates and implements engineering changes and specification requirements. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Essential Functions:
1. Communicate with the Manufacturing Engineer Manager regularly to ensure that the Leader’s decisions and actions are aligned with BTD’s objectives for the department.
2. Leader for the Engineering staff and others as may be assigned to the Leader’s area. Key focus on Development of Engineers and site KPI’s (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Talent).
3. Provide engineering support to sales and the customer to help develop products within the scope of the company’s capabilities continually modifying and improving processes to increase flexibility.
4. Directs the work of Manufacturing Engineer assistants, Manufacturing Engineers, and other resources assigned to the department.
5. Assumes the responsibility to make decisions independently and then, if necessary and/or appropriate, consult the next level of management.
6. Oversees all engineering, maintenance and tooling work order requests for accuracy and appropriateness.
7. Utilizes Lean Manufacturing Methodology to identify non-value-added activities and other opportunities for increased productivity. Eliminates non-value added activities where possible, and brings them to the attention of others where appropriate.
8. Remains current with technical skills, Leadership skills, and familiarity with each piece of production machinery, and its capabilities, and capacities.
9. Strengths and skills in all departments to serve as a working Leader and problem solver.
10. Ability to serve as the subject matter expert in engineering and train to meet KPI’s.
11. Project Management in Operational, Commercial, Automation, and Capital Investment Projects.
12. Drive business success through improvement initiatives within the designated BTD Location.
