Manufacturing Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively.     THE OPPORTUNITY:

    Our Manufacturing Engineers play an integral role in developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, and coordinating the launching of new or revised products. Our newly built facility is located in Gorham ME, less than a twenty-minute drive to Portland ME. The Gorham area offers easy access to great outdoor activities, safe communities, and quality schooling both K through 12 and Colleges.

     

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    • Create/edit/maintain Engineering documentation such as:
      • Geometry specification data
      • Product drawings
      • Process documentation
      • Project data analysis and reporting
    • Help in the creation of new products and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas of improvement.
    • Develop and draft manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors, and implementing cost saving measures.
    • Assist and/or lead Continuous Improvement initiatives including:
      • Cycle time optimization
      • Setup time reduction (SMED)
      • Reducing machine down time
      • Increasing machine efficiencies
      • Other LEAN initiatives
    • Educate, train, and supervise new employees on current manufacturing and workflow processes.

     

    YOU’LL BRING:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • 2 years of manufacturing experience
    • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of:
      • Process development, documentation, and implementation
      • Reducing machine down time
      • Increasing machine efficiencies
      • Project management
    • Experience with Six sigma problem solving tools (i.e. DMAIC) desired.
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
    • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
