Summary:
The person hired for the position of a Machinist - Tooling Technician will be responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools keeping production equipment in operational condition.
In This Role, You'll Have The Opportunity To:

Read and understand engineering tool and mold drawings and schematics

Build and repair close tolerance tools and mold components

Working knowledge of the heat treat process of tool steels

Ability to operate band saws, drill press, CNC mills, manual lathes, and grinders

Analyzes specifications, grind/fabricate and repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures

Read Blueprints, use Micrometers, Calipers and Comparator

Make tooling repairs and spot tools for proper metal fits

Maintain tooling systems

Maintain assembly line fixtures and spare parts inventory

Read blueprints & work with precise tolerances

Trouble shooting maintenance repair and fabrication of machine parts, dies, etc.

May be assigned other miscellaneous duties (including training) by department supervision/leadership

Strong diagnostic skills required

Engel, Milacron, Nissei and or other machines, lathes, mills experience
