Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Overview

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Apprenticeship Program Manager to lead and expand our apprenticeship initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Idaho's manufacturing workforce by fostering partnerships, developing innovative programs, and providing essential support to apprentices and businesses alike.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with industry partners to execute the current program and design and implement new initiatives for the IMA Apprenticeship program, bridging the skills gap and fostering a pipeline of skilled manufacturing professionals.
    • Develop Pre-Apprenticeship programs in collaboration with schools and businesses to create a strong foundation for aspiring apprentices.
    • Serve as an administrator for various Apprenticeship Committees, representing IMA at conferences and meetings to advocate for workforce development.
    • Design and coordinate new registered occupations that align with the evolving needs of manufacturers, ensuring program relevance.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations, to streamline processes and enhance program efficiency.
    • Promote the IMA program through community collaborations, engagement initiatives, and public relations efforts to drive awareness and participation.
    • Collaborate with education and government partners on strategic workforce initiatives to drive industry growth.
    • Stay current with state, national, industry, and regulatory requirements, ensuring program alignment.
    • Monitor program profitability and ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations, maintaining compliance at all times.
    • Lead the planning and execution of proposals and agreements, managing budget forecasts and expenditures.
    • Provide regular evaluation reports to the IMA Executive team and Board of Directors, addressing areas of improvement.
    • Analyze program effectiveness, review evaluation results, and implement strategies to address any identified deficiencies.
    • Maintain accurate program records, track data, and manage databases to ensure seamless program operations.
    • Oversee administrative aspects of Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship grants, ensuring compliance and maximized utilization.
    • Undertake administrative duties and special projects to contribute to the overall success of the programs.

     

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience in managing federally registered apprenticeship programs, demonstrating a solid understanding of program administration.
    • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey the benefits of apprenticeship to diverse audiences.
    • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, facilitating clear and concise communication.
    • Sharp critical thinking skills with the ability to strategize and find innovative solutions to challenges.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
    • Outstanding time-management skills to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
    • Attentive to detail with a keen eye for accuracy in program implementation and reporting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for efficient documentation and reporting.
    • Background in the manufacturing industry is advantageous, bringing insight into the unique needs and dynamics of the sector.
    • Dedication to delivering excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for program participants.
