Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job OverviewWe are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in Conover.
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will:Manage multiple plant-focused manufacturing engineering group with specific responsibilities for planning, organization, project management, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, product line enhancements, quality improvements, and cost improvement projects, in direct support of operations.
Do you have these required qualifications?Education
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or closely related field.
Work Experience
- Ten years engineering experience (prefer combination of manufacturing engineering process ownership responsibilities and project engineering).
- Three years ofsupervisory/people management experience.
- Experience must show history of project management assignments with increasing magnitude.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?- Masters of Business Administration, Engineering, or Manufacturing Management preferred.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Working knowledge of basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems.
- PC and keyboard/mouse skills required, including working knowledge of word processing and spread sheet applications.
- Ability to climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment with ability to lift/ move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to travel overnight, including internationally, away from plant location, up to 25 percent of time.
