Summary

As the Manufacturing Launch Manager for Blue Arc™ (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Charlotte, MI, you will be responsible for managing assigned projects from planning and budgeting through launch and maintenance in accordance with applicable business unit and manufacturing project plans.

In addition, you will be expected to take ownership of manufacturing launch programs and for ensuring that stakeholder communication channels are healthy and that manufacturing launch needs and requirements are executed in a timely manner.

You will also be accountable for:

• Directing a portfolio of projects and overseeing project goals throughout their lifecycle
• Ensuring products meet or exceed quality standards through proper policies and procedures
• Facilitating communication among department representatives and addressing program roadblocks
• Identifying and mitigating program risks, alerting management, and continuously monitoring risks
• Establishing systems and schedules for launch activities
• Overseeing launch plans, resource requirements, and documentation
• Steering regular Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs)
• Communicating the project status and any issues and risks to stakeholders
• Collecting and preparing launch start-up costs
• Ensuring manufacturing readiness, documenting scope changes, and maintaining project timelines
• Partnering cross-functionally to ensure project readiness and monitor milestones
• Estimating the number of resources and participants required for project success
• Proactively managing changes in scope, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans
• Completing projects within budget and deadlines
• Motivating the project team and overseeing their performance
• Managing projects through various phases, from discovery to close
• Improving project effectiveness through lessons learned
• Recommending business process and system changes for efficiency and improved outcomes
• Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
• Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical paths
• Managing project transitions between functional groups and project phases
• Conducting research into project-related issues and products to inform decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
• 8 or more years of expertise in a project management capacity
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Preferred)
• A reputation for being attentive to detail and having sound judgement
• A history of planning and handling multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines
• Versatile, flexible, and the willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
• Value stream mapping experience
