Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Role Overview:
The Fabrication Manager supervises a team of welders and fabricators who work on the necessary component parts of a piping fabrication that supports the organization’s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities:- Directs entire fabrication production workflow.
- Oversees interpretation of drawings/specifications.
- Demonstrates understanding of core welding technologies and educates team.
- Interfaces with various levels in the organization and shares information as required.
- Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace.
- Maintains accurate records and metrics.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops fabrication staff; manages schedules and workflow.
Requirements:- Personal integrity, leadership skills, and communications ability to inspire optimum performance among a diverse set of employees.
- 3 years of fabrication supervision experience in the same or similar industry.
- Must be a certified welder.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- High School Diploma or College Degree preferred.
- Expert level MS Office Suite and distribution-specific ERP systems skills.
- Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug test where required.
