    Job Description

    The Manufacturing Manager (relief) manages the workforce by organizing and monitoring workflow in multiple operational areas including processing, production, packaging, and material handling tasks. This position will oversee the daily operations of the Ready to Drink (RTD) and Multi Serve (MS) manufacturing process. This position ensures we are meeting production, health, sanitation, and quality standards set by the company, food industry, and government agencies as well as operational performance standards around safety, quality, expenses, and service.

    Schedule - 12 Hour Rotation.  This is a relief position.  The candidate for this position will need to be flexible and cover the current Manufacturing Managers vacations and absences on the DAY and/or NIGHT shift.  The current shift is 4:00am to 4:00pm and/or 4:00pm to 4:00am

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Coach manufacturing teams on process improvements to deliver consistent, annual, and sustainable improvements in performance.
    • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements and staffing requirements.
    • Manage and coordinate production and processing activities of a manufacturing organization.
    • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
    • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or
    • processing problems.
    • Create efficient business processes and workflows to streamline, standardize, and accelerate initiatives.
    • Key focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost as well as champion a continuous improvement culture
    • Ensure that all areas of responsibility are in full compliance with SQF (Safe Quality Food) systems at all times.
    • Participates with and provides direction as necessary to shop floor supervisors in resolving immediate safety concerns, quality, production, scheduling, technical or personnel issues.
    • Ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, local and federal regulations by plant leadership and employees.
    • Manages and executes improvement projects that support overall production process improvement in the plant and other variable cost savings opportunities.
    • Timely communication of goal progress, roadblocks and solutions to the Director of Operations as well as support managers for immediate solutions.
    • Assists with the annual strategic and business planning process providing key input from the production operations.
    • Ability to lead cross functional teams to conduct root cause analysis of all defects and lead the mistake proofing efforts.
    • Responsible for compliance by department supervisors with established procedures and specifications.
    • Resolves production scheduling problems by analyzing reports; develops solutions.
    • Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct and indirect reports.
    • Performs annual reviews and employee improvement plans for the plant floor leadership team.
    • Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster a positive, team atmosphere.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study, or (5) five years experience in production and/or manufacturing engineering, management and/or operations in food/beverage manufacturing facility
    • Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills
    • Proven ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Ability to make sound decisions within established guidelines
    • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
    • Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs
    • Must have demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and effective organizational skills
    • Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment
    • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage several projects at one time while providing high attention to details and excellent follow-through skills
