Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Qualifications
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:
- AA or AAS degree.
- 2 years on the job training and/or experience as a Project Manager.
Preferred Education / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of experience as a Project Manager
- PMP certification.
- Experience with new product introduction.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven work experience as a Project Manager
- Hands on experience in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time.
- Must be able to operate CMS / ERP system effectively.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team towards a common goal and foster a positive work environment.
- Experience coordinating with outside vendors.
Responsibilities
This individual will be charged with directing and leading project teams to ensure identified projects meet agreed upon objectives within the specified plan.
This individual will provide input into corporate roadmaps. Will help to develop, maintain and track project charters, scope, goals, plans, and budgets. Must be able to work with and coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure flawless execution. In order to ensure projects are successful, this individual must be able to implement risk management techniques.
