About the Job:
The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction for the maintenance team and manages all aspects of maintenance for the plant facility and manufacturing equipment. Works closely with Production, Quality, and EHS and to ensure business objectives and KPI's are met. Reports to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct activities of the maintenance team to ensure machines are running efficiently, building is kept in good condition, repairs are made timely;
- Provide guidance on best processes to ensure production has limited downtime;
- Train and develop maintenance technicians as necessary;
- Participate in or lead 5S and Kaizen events to continuously improve work methods and processes within areas of responsibility;
- Continue to develop and ensure the effectiveness of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance system and processes;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information in writing and orally;
- Able to influence or persuade others in a desired direction to achieve objectives;
- Able to lead and direct a team of maintenance technicians;
- Able to influence or persuade others in a desired direction to achieve objectives;
- Results oriented, self-directed, attention to detail, meets agreed deadlines;
Key Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance or engineering role;
- 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory role;
- Emotional maturity to lead a team of maintenance technicians;
- Ability and willingness to manage a team of techs who work 24 hours per day;
- Ability to source key machine components and ensure stock levels are at an acceptable level to ensure smooth operation of the plant;
- Engineering or Technical degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED and equivalent experience required;
- Experience with and knowledge of PLCs, electrical and industrial controls, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, boiler systems and building maintenance required;
- Experience with predictive or preventative maintenance systems and processes required.
