Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Technician to join our team. As a Marine Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various marine vessels. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of marine systems.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on marine vessels, including engine tune-ups, oil changes, and filter replacements
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on boats
- Fabricate and install parts as needed using sheet metal and other materials
- Conduct inspections to identify any potential issues or areas of concern
- Assist with boat rigging and assembly of new vessels
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks efficiently
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Marine Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of marine systems, including engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Proficient in fabricating and working with sheet metal
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in marine repair
- Experience working on military vessels is a plus
