Serco supports multiple customers including government customers and shipyards in various stages of design as well as in-service support of ships, submarines, crafts and other floating structures.
The Marine Engineer receives technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff to which the individual is assigned and applies basic knowledge of marine engineering and mechanical engineering to perform routine analyses and prepare basic engineering systems such as fluid systems, propulsion systems, auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems in support of the design of ships, crafts, and other floating structures.
Serco supports multiple customers including government customers and shipyards in designing ships, crafts and other floating structures, and their systems.
You will be part of a member team working for a Ship Design Manager or Engineering Manager designing ships, or ship systems and working closely with the customer and other Serco teams. You will support the development of engineering change specifications and respond to queries from the production floor that require an engineering assessment during the refits of ships and submarines under the guidance of a functional manager. You may be required to perform Logistics Support Analysis under the guidance of ILS Manager
You will apply basic mechanical and marine engineering knowledge in accordance with applicable regulatory body rules, regulations, and industry standards, and will use engineering tools and software to develop analyses and products in one or more technical areas.

In compliance with local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $83,300 CAD to $85,000 CAD however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
