  • American Marine Chippewa Falls is seeking a full-time Marine Technician. We offer on the job training and schooling to help new employees gain the skills and knowledge to become a successful marine technician.     This position would be ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is committed to doing the job efficiently and correctly the first time. In return, we offer competitive pay as well as bi-weekly bonuses for hours billed.

    Job Functions, Responsibilities, & Authority:

    The Marine Technician’s primary jobs are repairing and maintaining customer boats, rigging new sales units, and performing trade checks on incoming used sales units. Our Technicians are factory-trained and certified. If you aren’t certified we’ll cover your costs to become certified.

    • Diagnoses and repairs issues with boats, motors, and engines; discusses additional services needed with Service Writer
    • Installs add-on parts, accessories, and electronics
    • Performs warranty and recall work to manufacturer standards
    • Provides accurate reporting of time and work on each job; meets/exceeds time allowances
    • Works in an efficient and safe manner
    • Responsibly uses dealership equipment & tools
    • Ensures customer boat cleanliness

    Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years of engine repair recommended (marine experience preferred)
    • Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
    • Large equipment driving & towing experience preferred (fork truck, tractor)
    • Able to provide own basic toolset

    Physical Requirements:

    • Lift/move up to 50 pounds – occasionally move over 100 pounds
    • Have needed dexterity to efficiently use hand tools
    • Work with tools lifted overhead or in tight spaces
    • Walk/stand for the majority of a workday
