Job Function:
During the six-month paid leadership development program, the LIT will engage in training and experiences that have a direct impact on the retail business and its people. This hands-on accelerated development program is ideal for motivated emerging leaders that want to be developed to step into a management role at the end of the six-month training program. This development program includes time hands on, time in our leader-led workshops, in-store rotations, and formal online modules and assignments. The Leader in Training will gain the business acumen, customer service and leadership knowledge needed to manage their own team in our store operations. Training Program Outline:
· Learn to deliver and maintain outstanding retail execution and customer service in the store
· Gain a thorough understanding of Village Super Market’s standards, processes, programs, and initiatives, including store operations, merchandising, marketing, quality assurance, customer experience, training, and communications
Responsibilities:
· Interact daily with customers, identify trends, set goals and create and implement action plans.
· Regularly inspect the store conditions to ensure compliance with all programs, rules and standards.
· Communicate the company's strategic plan as well as the store's specific plan to the Team Leaders and ensure they are supporting these plans in their daily operations
· Review and monitor scheduling, purchases, and other expenses to ensure teams and the store are within budget.
· Promote inclusion, diversity, mutual respect and dignity among Team Leaders and Team Members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Job requires ability to work in multiple environments, may be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
· Requires frequent walking and standing with occasional reaching, climbing, stooping, and sitting, kneeling and crouching / squatting. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of approximately 20 – 40 pounds is required.
· Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
