We are a family owned pet food and supply store looking for a dedicated team member who will work side by side with our Store Manager to provide world class customer service. Catering to a wide variety of pet consumer needs, our stores strive to stock both affordable and cutting-edge pet products for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, and birds.
A working knowledge of pet food trends, brands, and manufacturers is strongly preferred, as is a background in retail management and/or the animal care industry.
Responsibilities
· Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
· Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
· Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards
· Understand and act on buying trends, customer needs and profits as it pertains to the household pets, pet food and supplies
· Deal with all issues that arise from staff and/or customers such as complaints and customers accidents in an inclusive and professional manner
· Correspond with manufacturers and suppliers to insure store orders are fulfilled and delivered properly
· Understand how to read supplier invoices
· Manage and track store inventory
· Contact manufacturer representatives to generate store sales through monthly trainings
Skills
· Proven track record of serving in a retail position for more than two years
· Strong leader with exceptional customer and employee management skills
· Strong organizational skills with ability to complete work tasks in a prompt and timely order
· Must have graduated high school. Preference given to candidates with previous experience in the pet industry
