    ABOUT THE ROLE


    This is a fantastic career opportunity to join an innovative, passionate team that demands focus, persistence, and dynamism in the rapidly expanding climate sector! 3Degrees is seeking a Markets Analyst to join our growing team and support organizations worldwide in reaching their decarbonization goals. In this role you will be the main source of analytical support to our Rest of World EAC Trading desk, which covers the APAC, MEA, and LATAM markets. We are looking for a quantitative expert, knowledgeable in technical and multivariate analysis, with a passion for crafting intricate supply and demand models, forecasts, and innovative ways to present complex data with precision and nuance.

    This is a full time role reporting to the Manager, Market Analysis. This position is open to candidates preferably based within a commutable distance of our San Francisco, CA office where you'll enjoy a flexible hybrid working environment. Exceptional candidates based outside of San Francisco, CA may also be considered. In addition, you agree to travel, periodically to 3Degree's offices for training or team collaboration and to conferences and customers as required. Frequency and cadence is team dependent, but on average is 1-6 times annually.     WHAT YOU’LL DO

    This Analyst will join the Research & Analysis team, which is composed of market analysis, data management, and regulatory affairs. Position responsibilities include:

    • Develop comprehensive supply and demand models to support 3Degrees’ business, including:

      • Evaluate and conduct due diligence for International EAC deal opportunities
      • Assist with in-depth research and constructing nuanced market insights across a variety of
        geographies and products in emerging and developing markets
      • Aggregate disparate data, reconciling discrepancies, and validating data quality and
        integrity
    • Conduct research and analysis to help guide the development of trading strategy to include:
      • Execute weekly scheduled pricing and portfolio reporting
      • Collaborate with our Regulatory Affairs team with research on potential legislative,
        regulatory, or policy changes affecting international markets
      • Manage and update existing market reports and convey results to different teams
      • Support our international portfolio manager and trading team with ad hoc analyses
      • Make trading recommendations to portfolio managers based on market outlook
    • Engage with creating, updating, and running custom knowledge tools to help guide portfolio
      decisions:
      • Develop dashboards and reports and apply more advanced technical skills in Tableau,
        Excel, and Python/Pandas or an equivalent programming language to support trading
      • Work with the business analysis group to integrate new SQL and R logic
      • Support data automation and integration initiatives. And help advance existing or
        implement new technologies
    ABOUT YOU

    You will have a propensity for figuring out creative ways to overlay data sets in a manner that provides critical analytical insights to our Trading Team. Candidates who possess the following qualifications have an excellent opportunity to thrive in this role:
    • Professional experience in fundamentals/financial modeling and forecasting is required, ideally
      in commodity markets

    • Expert proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and Python/Pandas - or an equivalent programming
      language
    • Exceptional research abilities, organizational skills and diligent attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a team based environment balancing competing demands toward mutual
      goals
    • Excellent presentation skills; must be able to succinctly present information to other team
      members
    • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail and
      maintain composure under pressure
    • Strong independent learning skills coupled with a successful track record of self-driven
      analytical investigations - must be able to think creatively
    • Self-motivated, with a genuine desire to accelerate the growth of environmental markets
      domestically and internationally
    • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
    • Good understanding of and interest in geography, comparative governments, and international
      affairs
    • Fluency in one or more of the following languages will be advantageous: ASEAN, Japanese,
      Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or Turkish
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of professional experience
      and education

    HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS


    Within 30 days,

    • You have a firm understanding of the International EAC market structure and 3Degrees'
      overall portfolio position, and at least an indication of the key drivers underlying these
      strategies
    • You will complete the first month of our onboarding program plus invested in your own
      research and have a basic understanding of 3Degrees’ company and wholesale & commercial
      business structure, products, and services
    • You are attuned to the key stakeholders within EM and have an initial understanding of their
      priorities and needs
    • You have successfully engaged with the team in terms of their growth, tools, processes, and
      reporting activity

    Within 90 days,
    • You are beginning to track key long-term trends for the company and understand how
      those concepts are reflected in raw data
    • You are able to present data-driven insights to the ROW Trading team, based on nuanced
      market outlooks
    • Build a comprehensive supply and demand model for a specific country (specific country TBD)
    • You have taken independent ownership of routine reporting tools and can demonstrate that
      you understand their relevance to portfolio management

    Within 6 months,
    • You are the primary source of market information for at least one of the three regions covered
      in the International portfolio, including generating weekly reports and actionable intelligence
      reviews for the trading team
    • You will lead market research projects with minimal supervision, anticipating market shifts and
      proactively identifying potential opportunities and risks
    • You will proactively identify and analyze the impact of emerging market trends and competitor
      activity on 3Degrees' market position
    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
    • Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $76,000 - $104,000 in the US. The
      total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as
      it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location,
      transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market
      demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
    • Benefits: This position is eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision,

    • Supplemental Pay: this position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the
      company’s profit sharing program and an annual team Bonus Pool
    • This compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the
      date of publication and may be modified in the future
