JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Research Compliance Analyst ("RCA") provides critical support for WPI's research compliance activities. Reporting to the Director of Research Integrity and Compliance, the RCA will participate in the development, improvement, and execution of research compliance policies and procedures. This position will work closely with other campus offices to identify and manage compliance issues. This position will also work directly with the faculty, supporting their efforts to meet compliance requirements associated with their research.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:

Receive and respond to faculty inquiries related to research compliance.

Act as "first line" reviewer for compliance disclosures/applications.

Help develop and deliver training related to research compliance.

Keep abreast of changes and developments in regulations.

Participate in review board meeting as needed (e.g. IRB, IACUC, Conflict Management Committee, etc.)

he RCA will primarily support the following key compliance areas:
Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects (IRB):
-
Monitor the status of applications and protocols to ensure timely resolution;

Conduct and/or participate in IRB reviews of research proposals;

Manage communications and recordkeeping.
Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI):
-
Facilitate the annual FCOI disclosure process.

Review and analyze disclosure forms to identify potential conflicts of interest

Provide general support for the Conflict Management Committee, including record maintenance, keeping of minutes, managing meeting schedules, etc.

Develop and monitors employee conflict management plans
Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research:

Administer WPI's RECR training program
-
Identify personnel who require training; follows up as needed to ensure timely completion of training.

Maintain audit-ready documentation of program compliance
The RCA will also assist as needed with other aspects of the university's research compliance program, including the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), research security, research misconduct, and export control.
Requirements:
-
Professional-level analytical, organizational and communication skills are required. Good public speaking skills a plus.

Bachelor's Degree 3-5 years experience strongly preferred.

Experience in an academic or R&D setting preferred; will consider candidates with comparable experience. The ideal candidate will have at least working knowledge and experience with research compliance, and/or sponsored research administration.

Must be able to collaborate with individuals at all different levels of the organization with a high level of diplomacy and professionalism and handle confidential information with discretion.

Must have ability to multitask effectively and prioritize competing demands and deadlines.

Must be willing and able to read, understand, and interpret regulatory guidelines.

Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must.

Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
