UpRoot Market & Eatery is a brand new, cooperatively-owned grocery and deli in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Battle Creek, Michigan is a beautiful community situated along the confluence of the picturesque Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Rivers in between Detroit and Chicago along the I-94 corridor. Our General Manager will be ready to take on the challenges of opening and growing the business and focusing on our priorities of building relationships with our local farmers and producers, nurturing a positive and caring workplace for our dedicated employees and providing a memorable shopping experience for all who come through our doors.
The GM oversees all aspects of business operations including being a team leader, planning, finance, marketing and members services and human resources while promoting the cooperative values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity.
The GM reports to the Board of Directors who are elected by the members and responsible for governing the co-op as well as oversight and delegation to the GM.
