  • Thompson Thrift is seeking a Full-Time Market Research Analyst for its corporate office located in Indianapolis, IN. The Market Research Analyst will share in the accomplishment of the Company’s annual multifamily real estate development objectives. Major duties include, but are not limited to, creating and maintaining market intelligence reports, analyzing data related to national, state, and market-level development trends, updating market rankings, reporting market demographics, and responding to other information needs of the development, property management, and capital markets teams.  

    Responsibilities: 
    • Monitor multifamily development trends through a variety of third-party resources including, but not limited to, CoStar, RealPage, and John Burns.
    • Assist regional development teams with detailed research for specific regions, markets, and submarkets. 
    • Evaluate and develop new ways to collect and manage market data, including vendor-supplied information and primary and secondary research.
    • Translate complex findings into actionable insights.
    • Generate reports and data visualizations for use in presenting findings to investors and senior management.
    • Create visualizations using GIS mapping where possible.
     

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
    • At least two years of related experience.
    • Superior analytical and reasoning skills, including interpretation of data and decision-making capabilities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
    • Experience with data visualization and analysis tools a plus.
    • Ability to organize time and utilize resources effectively.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Capable of addressing basic issues and problems, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
    • Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) preferred.

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office or remote setting. The noise in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work at construction work sites where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise in the construction work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
