A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Market Research Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     Duties and Responsibilities
    Responsibilities:
    • Oversee research staff adherence to all ICH I6 GCP guidelines and FDA regulations.
    • Develop and update standard operating procedures and oversee the implementation of these SOPs.
    • Plan and organize the daily operations of the research department, to include protocol and systems, budgeting, staffing, and contract/budget administration.
    • Provide oversight for the collection and quality assurance of all regulatory and clinical documentation and ensures that this documentation meets all elements of ALCOA data integrity.
    • Communicate and collaborate with sponsors and CROs to ensure that clinical trial activities are being conducted per protocol and that patient safety is being maintained.
    • Assist in the coordination of efforts of internal and external resources (industry partners, clinical research organizations) to ensure efficient trial selection, patient recruitment and trial plan execution.
    • Provide technical leadership and administrative supervision to technical staff engaged in the execution of research protocol.
    • Identify and delegate tasks to the appropriate staff members while managing the work burden of the staff and department to optimize productivity.
    • Participate in staff hiring, provide training, allocate and coordinate work assignments, and evaluate performance of staff.
    • Perform quality assurance audits of day-to-day research activities and data to ensure staff is producing high-quality work on deadline.
    • Function as an additional clinical research coordinator as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Must have extensive knowledge of both clinical and administrative aspects of clinical research.
    • Possess previous experience working in a clinical research coordinator, manager or RN role in the field of clinical research.
    • Must be highly knowledgeable about and have experience with all aspects of clinical care and possess direct patient interaction.
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills, a flexible, collaborative and team-oriented approach to problem-solving and an ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
    • Must possess effective planning and organizational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to exercise strong business judgment with an understanding of the fundamentals of the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Must possess effective public speaking skills.
    • Must possess effective planning and organizational skills.
    Ability to execute both strategically and tactically
    Qualifications
    • Previous clinical experience as a clinical research coordinator and clinical research supervisor are required.
    Work Environment
    • Medical office requiring some contact with adult patients
