Being a Market Research Supervisor interprets and predicts consumer trends, formulates research and development proposals, and monitors research projects. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Market Research Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.   • The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for supervising and executing food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory, complying with safety and cleanliness standards while managing and motivating a team. To be successful in this role, you should be able to motivate our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver exceptional food, on time. Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly prepared and served and that our guests have a fun and delicious dining experience! Knowledge of a wide variety of seafood and expert fileting skills are pertinent.

    KITCHEN MANAGER POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Financial Accountability:
    Ensure all financial and payroll related duties are completed accurately and on time.
    Adhere to labor, production and purchasing metrics established by CFO.
    Monitor cost controls, including, but not limited to, food, beverage, labor and all other controllable costs.
    Prepare and retain weekly and monthly cost reports.
    Maintain the profitability of the restaurant without compromising the standard of service, food and beverage, safety, cleanliness or maintenance of the facility

    Purchasing and Inventory:
    Order food supplies, maintain appropriate inventory levels while managing food spoilage and waste.
    Ensure all products are received in and deliveries are received in accordance with established receiving policies.
    Oversee all restaurant inventories including food, liquor, beer, wine, furniture and equipment.

    Compliance and Service:
    Supervise and execute food prep, cooking, food preparation and plating.
    Establish and ensure accurate plate presentation, temperature control and portion sizes are met.
    Observe size of food portions and preparation quantities to minimize waste.
    Never permit sub-standard food or beverages to be served.
    Price menu items in collaboration with the Director of Restaurant Operations.
    Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection.
    Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy kitchen environment including, but not limited to, storage and safety, by establishing, following, and enforcing safety and sanitation standards and procedures in accordance with city, state and federal guidelines.

    People:
    Participate in the hiring of new crew members.
    Train kitchen staff on prep work, fish fileting and food plating techniques.
    Lead, motivate, and empower crew member to higher levels of performance, creating an inspiring team environment.
    Partner with HR to establish action plans, disciplinary action, and separation procedures.
    Assess staffing to ensure that labor and labor costs are appropriate to the level of business.
    Ensure the restaurant is compliant with all federal, state, and local wage and hour labor laws including duty-free meal and break compliance.
    Properly follow Company policy.
    Create and post crew schedules and assist with modifications when necessary.
    Attend and participate in all mandatory staff meetings.
    Immediately report any concerns or suspicions regarding harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and/or safety concerns in the workplace to any senior manager.

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
    Proven experience or training as a Kitchen Supervisor, which may be demonstrated via degree or certificate, completion of apprenticeship, or other relevant involvement
    Proficient with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
    Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
    Current Supervisors Food Handlers Card required and must be maintained.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others.
    Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
    Ability to read, interpret, and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR, and payroll.
    Ability to manage cash, process credit cards, and work the cash register.
    Basic computer skills, including Internet use, E-mail, and typing skills.
    Working knowledge of Restaurant 365, PeopleMatter and Oracle POS a plus.
    Proficient in MS Office including Word and Excel and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
    Excellent verbal, written, organizational and conflict management skills.
    Flexibility to work over 40 hours per week, weekends and holidays.
    Great passion and high standards to manage and lead a team in a fast-paced work environment by effectively, coaching, training, and inspiring each team member to reach and exceed their goals.
    Must poses excellent written, verbal and conflict management skills.
    Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, guests, and others, in a reasonable manner.
    Working knowledge of city, state, and federal hospitality laws and regulations.
