Detailed Job Description
ANTICIPATED HOURS:
Monday/Tuesday- Off
Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - 10:00am - 6:30pm
Saturday/Sunday - 11:45am - 8:15pm
**Break and summer hours may vary**-
Responsible to all customers and co-workers to provide excellent service in a friendly, sincere and courteous manner

Hire, supervise, schedule, train student staff on a specific shift to ensure that meal periods run smoothly and efficiently. Follow the Student Employment Office's policies and procedures.

Thorough knowledge of proper food handling, including storage and serving techniques.

Possess a good understanding of point of sale systems, including meal plans, debit accounts, cash prices and cash handling.

Cash handling procedures to include; balancing drawers, and main bank, cash deposits, change orders and daily income statement.

Order products from vendors as assigned, searching for the right product mix to offer to our customers. Follow with vendors on any discrepancies on orders

Have knowledge on invoice processing, following RIT's guidelines and procedures. Follow up on any credits.

Responsible for inventory taking, up keeping, price checking, tag making and maintaining the Yellow Dog inventory system

Responsible for the stocking of the store, proper rotation of products, and ensuring all out of date products are removed and accounted for

Responsible for cleanliness of the facility as well as proper sanitation and safety procedures.

Responsible for opening and closing the unit and securing the building depending on schedule.

Carry out special assignments as requested by managers to provide coverage to the Front of the House and Back of the House.

Knowledge and understanding of department and Institute personnel policies and objectives to deal with staff and customers.

Attend meetings and serve on committees as requested or required by manager.

Report to work on time, adhere to break policies and wear proper uniform.

Adhere to and follow precautionary measures as they relate to safety in the workplace.
Department/College Description
The successful candidate will be joining the Global Cantina & Grille and Global Village Market team. These operations are located in the Global Village Plaza on RIT's campus. The Cantina serves approximately 1500 - 2000 customers and the Global Market serve about 500 -600 customers per day, making them very busy locations. Therefore we are in need of a reliable, energetic and engaging person to help us serve our customers in a legendary way. We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being a part of a hard working team.
About RIT Dining
Dining supports all meal plans both on campus and at select off campus locations. We are looking for a high energy team member that enjoys working in a busy environment serving customers. The successful candidate will need to be able to work with a diverse student work force which may include of deaf / hard of hearing, and internationals students. Hours would change for breaks, intersession and summer semester. This position may support serving from 1500 to over 3000 customers (faculty, staff and students) in any one location on a daily basis.
Required Minimum Qualifications

Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date

3-5 years high volume restaurant/retail experience

Mature customer service skills in a fast paced environment

Strong computer skills
