Job Summary:

Directly supervises the Graphic Designer, and the Junior Marketing Analyst. Oversees the strategic and operating activities for Database Marketing, Advertising and Marketing Analytics. Provides analytical support for all Marketing departments and has primary responsibility for near- and long-term plans for the Harrah’s Northern California property. Designs and prepares ongoing and ad-hoc analytical projects. Responsible for the creation of direct mail offers and the back-end analysis associated with those offers including standard corporate reporting and ad-hoc analysis.

Qualifications: 

• Required proficiency with Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint with ability to train quickly in other software programs.
• Must have excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
• Must have outstanding math, critical thinking, statistical, financial, and analytical skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently, be detailed and results oriented, have excellent time management skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree
• Preferred minimum 2-years’ marketing analytical experience.
• Preferred ability to use Cognos and Hyperion Essbase/SmartView.
• Preferred SQL and VBA experience.                              

Essential Job Functions:

• Works with the Junior Marketing Analyst to evaluate proposed events, promotions and direct mail programs to determine financial justification, follows up with post analysis to measure success, make recommendations to improve based on results achieved.
• Measures and monitors host and other productivity reports.
• Prepares monthly marketing reviews.
• Prepares new analysis from largely theoretical ideas including several scenarios which includes supporting tactical and strategic decision making by senior management.
• Produces written reports on his/her analysis, and from time to time, gives oral presentations on findings to property senior management.
• Interprets marketing data into meaningful and relevant reports with recommendations.
• Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in the database and recommends new programs or changes.  
• Creates offers to improve customer profitability through increased visitation and incremental play.
• Runs CIM reports and Big query to understand the database of customers and to target specific customer segments.
• Proofs direct mail creative and variable offer information for clarity and accuracy.
• Conducts analysis of tests and offer success as requested.
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
• Monitors and keeps current all signage, public area systems and in-house video channels for quality and content.
• Ensures the growth of gaming revenues through flawless execution of all the functions performed in the Database Marketing & Advertising Department. 
• Responsible for all aspects of the database and database marketing programs, strategic planning, reporting and analysis.
• Responsible for the timely production and design of all direct mail and email communications.
• Responsible for all offer creation, audience selections, customer segmentation and list generation.
• Accountable for the security and trafficking of all restricted lists and reports. Interviews and selects employees for the department.
• Supervises employee training and development; identifies and counsels’ employees on career opportunities; reviews employee performance and administers discipline, taking appropriate action in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepares and coordinates the delivery of performance appraisals to assigned personnel.
• Responsible for maintaining operations within approved budget.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino.
• Must be able to work on the computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in an office environment.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use standard office equipment including but not limited to computer, keyboard, mouse, copy machine, printer and facsimile.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, pull and push up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
