Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. Position Summary: Responsible for developing and implementing highly effective public engagement, communication, and marketing strategies for the Town of Eagle. Will implement the Town’s strategic external and internal communications, serve as the Town’s Public Information Officer, and works closely on Town marketing initiatives with the Eagle Chamber.
Required Experience, Education and Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, public administration, or a related field plus a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in public engagement, communication, and marketing, preferably in a government agency or related field or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong project management and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective communication and marketing strategies.
· Experience with social media and digital marketing.
· Knowledge of communication techniques and strategies, including traditional and digital media, public relations, social media, search engine optimization, and community outreach, ability to deliver messaging that resonates with the audience.
Preferred:
· Familiarity with local government operations and public sector communication practices is preferred.
· Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
· Preferred knowledge of / relationships with local and regional media outlets and connections.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
· This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with a typical 8-hour day, flexible between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Regular, predictable, and dependable on-site workplace attendance is an essential function of the job, however flexibility in scheduling is supported. Once fully trained, may telecommute ½ or 1 day weekly depending upon meetings & projects.
· Regularly attends Town Council (2nd and 4th Tuesday at 6 p.m.), and various committee meetings that typically occur during regular business hours.
