Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.                          Flexible; evenings and weekends for special events required 

    Salary: $23.00 (Entry Level) - $26.00

    Reports to: Director of Philanthropy and Communications 


    SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and Communication, the Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of all marketing and communication. Strategies include internal and external messaging, print collateral, media buys and social media to increase the brand awareness of MMC to build a stronger, more visible connection with the community to potential clients and donors. Additionally, the coordinator works with the Development team to promote annual fundraising campaigns and events. This individual will develop goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive campaigns. The incumbent will promote the creation, enhancement and development of strategies to promote Marjaree Mason Center and its services, maintaining brand integrity and strategically positioning MMC as a trusted provider of domestic violence supportive services. 

         

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES listed in order of priority, and include the following: Other duties and/or projects deemed necessary by management.

    · Create and manage an annual marketing calendar to ensure all communication due dates and deadlines are met. 

    · Regularly meet with each member of the leadership team to establish and execute marketing goals for program areas.

    · Write and send out media releases to promote activities within all MMC programs and fundraising campaigns.

    · Write and distribute monthly employee newsletter and monthly donor newsletter.

    · Enforce brand/style consistency in all collateral, PPT’s, and agency materials.

    · Attend outreach and other MMC events to take photos and video to post on social media in real-time. Will include some evenings and weekends.

    · Manage and order all MMC collateral including giveaway items for various outreach events 

    · Develop social media plan with engagement goals. 

    · Create social media calendar with daily content (develop both copy and graphic design) for posts on all platforms; plan and schedule posts one month in advance.

    · Create and manage social media campaigns, advertising budgets and ad strategies. 

    · Provide support on others MMC social media sites such as kNOw MORE (Prevention and Education)

    · Create collateral as needed for MMC programs or initiatives. 

    · Responsible for design of annual report and appeal letters. 

    · Coordinate mailing and print production.

    · Proofread all marketing collateral, annual report, appeal letters, etc. for spelling, grammar, style, etc. 

    · Be the main point of contact with MMC’s marketing agency for all creative projects

    · Oversee marketing/advertising campaign deliverables, timelines, etc. 

    · Work with marketing agency to maintain web-site design and work independently to update all internal changes on the web-site as needed.

    · Create and inventory ALL agency marketing materials, i.e. brochures, newsletters, fliers, etc., working with each member of the leadership team on annual updates and new content 

    · Post MMC events to local community calendars

    · Help promote special MMC programming and events

    · Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee’s essential job functions.

    · Work with local colleges and University’s to recruit and supervise marketing/communication interns each semester 

    · Ability to work both independently and within a team to meet goals and deadlines

    · Stay aware of trends in marketing and communication and specifically in domestic violence 

    · Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field from a four-year college or university, preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience with writing compelling copy, graphic design, social/digital media marketing, special events and public relations.

      

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    · Proficiency with organizing, planning, and completing multiple projects within deadlines.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher)

    · Strong writing skills with attention paid to grammar, punctuation and spelling

    · Strong visual eye to help guide the design process.

    · Experience using graphic design software such Adobe Creative Suite

    · Experience using a mass email platform like MailChimp or Constant Contact 

    · In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.)

     - Strong analytical skills and an understanding of digital marketing campaign methodologies and principles

    · Quick learner that can work independently

    · Detail oriented

    • Possession of a valid California driver's license and proof of liability insurance on personal auto. Must be insurable at all times at standard rate by set by MMC insurance carrier. Must be insurable at all times at the standard rate set MMC’s insurance carrier. Must pass tuberculosis test, drug test and background check.
