Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary:

    The Director of Marketing is responsible for the daily management of Pebble Beach Company’s brand and all of its communications channels. Managing all advertising, digital, PR, web, social and internal creative and communications efforts.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Marketing:

    • Deeply process oriented and strives under process and organization
    • Responsible for annual marketing planning process, marketing activities, and project management
    • Oversee day-to-day marketing activities and brand management
    • Work with internal resort partners on specific marketing initiatives
    • Develop processes and procedures to ensure projects are prioritized and delivered on time
    • Partner with and facilitate promotions and collaborations with resort operations, event marketing partners, media and influencers
    • Oversee marketing efforts during special events (AT&T Pro-am, PBFW, Concours)
    • Ongoing collaboration with digital marketing team to develop new and innovative content
    • Manage outside advertising, PR, digital and creative agencies
    • Analyze and report on all media campaigns; understand best practices for paid digital advertising and create strategy
    • Oversee distribution of monthly website, social and paid media activity reports

    Digital:

    • Fluent in digital marketing practices and how to support an expert team of digital marketers
    • Become an expert user of our content management system, analytics and web testing tools
    • Develop, implement, and execute innovative social media strategies
    • Support strategy and management on core platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TripAdvisor, Yelp and emerging platforms
    • Manage performance metrics and platform updates for opportunities and needs for post and creative optimizations

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
    • Minimum 10 years marketing experience and/or digital marketing; experience with hospitality and luxury brands a plus
    • Affinity for Pebble Beach and golf a must
    • Strives in a “team first” environment and values the power of a team over an individual
    • Strong understanding of digital and social media landscape
    • Ability to interface easily with all levels of management and cross-functional teams
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Understanding of SEO and content strategies
    • Strong understanding of key social media KPIs, analysis and reporting
    • Demonstrated experience managing paid advertising campaigns with experience optimizing paid social campaigns.
    • Experience using data to gather insights, experience optimizing messaging to increase campaign performance
