Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Marketing to plan and manage all aspects of LAVIDGE marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for agency marketing to B2B channels and supporting business development and client growth initiatives. This role is essential to our agency’s growth and visibility and provides an opportunity to collaborate with other LAVIDGE departments and manage an internal marketing team. You will report directly to the Managing Director of Growth & Development and contribute significantly to achieving our financial success and keeping our brand awareness strong.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and execute consistent promotion of LAVIDGE in key markets and vertical industries (80%)
      • Identify, lead and create agency promotion, PR, and thought leadership opportunities for LAVIDGE.
      • Manage execution of a consistent, proactive brand promotion plan to current and prospective clients, employees, and other industry influencers.
      • Manage agency’s digital presence, including web site enhancements, social media, and email marketing campaigns.
      • Coordinate with PR for news releases, award submissions, and with digital strategists and digital media specialists for organic and paid social posts.
      • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, measure ROI, and provide weekly progress reports.
      • Oversee marketing content creation, ensuring alignment with strategic messaging, promotion, and engagement goals.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to amplify marketing
    • Contribute to new business and client growth initiatives as needed, ensuring coordination and integration.
    • Identify and coordinate industry, community, sponsorship and involvement/attendance at trade shows, events and networking groups.
      • Actively promote and participate in local marketing organizations (AMA, PRSA, AAF, ) and/or identify others who would be the best representative for each.
      • Work with directors to budget and coordinate
    • Report, communicate and manage time effectively
      • Communicate and update the executive team on marketing activities, results, trends, and competitive information.
      • Participate in the development and administration of the annual sales and marketing budget.
      • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
      • Maintain a professional tone in all communications, ensure deadlines are met, and provide weekly updates to leadership team on successes and challenges.
      • Follow and encourage others to follow work processes to ensure efficient, high- quality work.
    • Supervise and direct the work of our internal marketing team (20%)
      • Monitor and assign workload and internal meeting attendance
      • Approve PTO requests and ensure adequate staffing coverage
      • Provide regular performance feedback to direct reports
      • Annually review direct reports’ performance

    Qualifications/Skills

    • Proven leadership, project and people and management skills
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • In-depth knowledge of marketing trends
    • Ability to develop and implement effective business-building programs
    • Self-motivated
    • Able to develop budgets and track spending/results
    • 4 years' experience managing direct reports
    • Able to attend evening work functions as needed to fulfill job duties

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
    • 8 years of marketing experience in B2B and/or professional services
    • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and digital advertising campaigns
    • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
    • Solid knowledge of web site and marketing analytics i.e. Google Analytics
    • Good command of written and spoken English with accurate use of punctuation and grammar
    • Proficient in MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) and project management tools
