Nature of Work
The Director of Graphic Design and Marketing/Communications is a highly integrated position with the RDA team. This person will complete the graphic design work and in collaboration with team and consultants create the marketing/communications strategy and tactics to promote Downtown Rochester. The incumbent’s primary functions include conceptualizing and generating visual identify for RDA activities and marketing campaigns, creation and measurement of digital strategy and content for the RDA’s social media platforms, website, and public affairs activities. Complete projects and assignments with a high level of independence and self-direction
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Graphic Designer - Conceptualize and produce visual imagery/design to convey key promotional messages
· Create engaging and visually appealing designs for digital, video and print marketing using technology and creative software platforms.
· Design advertising for a variety of media formats.
· Conceptualize stories/storytelling –videography, edit, produce, and post to social media platforms.
· Review analytics and adjust as appropriate.
· Be creative and innovative designing new ways to promote Rochester’s Downtown
· Be comfortable working with colleagues in collaborative design process.
· Have strong Adobe Create Suite skills.
* Digital Media Strategy - Recommend and implement a digital media strategy to promote Downtown Rochester’s events and assets
* Coordinate website and social media engagement
*Write press releases, website content, e-newsletters, and stakeholder communications as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, information technology, public relations, digital media, marketing, or a related field; at least two (2) years of experience in digital media and website development, public relations, communications.

Drone license

Knowledge of: social marketing, social media, and public communication principles; Microsoft Office, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign, and Adobe Suite; organizational skills; graphic design fundamentals.
Skill in: Written and verbal communication with press and community; editing; photography and videography; working independently; the proper use of spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar; using MS Office products and related software,
