MARKETING & COMMUNICATION INTERN (REMOTE)

Apply to become the Marketing & Communication intern with Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity! We want the interns who join our team to learn, show off their skillset, and feel supported in their academic efforts. Please note, this is a fully remote position.
BASIC FUNCTION The Marketing & Communication Intern serves on the Professional Staff team to assist with the development and deployment of marketing initiatives and creative projects that drive engagement across the Fraternity. Through effective planning, storytelling and critical thinking, this position will build awareness about AKPsi to support the strategic direction of the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with implementation of marketing and communication strategies and initiatives • Assist with content development and updates for digital and print media (ex. AKPsi News blog, Business Edge newsletter, AKPsi.org, The Diary of Alpha Kappa Psi magazine) • Prepare weekly updates to monitor and share email, blog, and newsletter performance metrics • Support the development and implementation of the content strategy and initiatives • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust, as needed • Uphold AKPsi brand standards across all communication platforms • Identify leaders and influencers (internal/external) and engage them in brand activities • Assist with overall copywriting, proofing and updating • Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS • A bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled student) in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field • Minimum availability of 10-15 hours a week • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (AP style) • Exceptional ability to multitask and manage details • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team • Understanding of emerging platforms, digital media and web management, and measurement tools (e.g., WordPress, Google Analytics) • Strong working knowledge of email marketing applications is a plus • Ability to effectively work remotely, both independently and as part of a team • Ability to take initiative and employ good judgment • Involvement in Greek life is a plus but not required • Access to a computer with a strong internet connection is required
