    Responsibilities

    Description of Position:

    The Marketing Communications Specialist creates, designs, and executes comprehensive communications and marketing plans that support the mission and vision of Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The Marketing Communications Specialist also supports external and internal communication, community outreach, and hospital special events.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    Marketing Communications

    · Support the development of marketing and communication plans, including creative direction, project launch, and evaluation.

    · Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, community contacts and media.

    · Collaborate with hospital service line leaders on methods to achieve business and market goals.

    · Contribute to the successful creation and execution of marketing campaigns.

    · Coordinate community outreach programming and promote hospital health education outreach.

    · Assist with projects that support communication and marketing efforts.

    · Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.

    Basic UPH Performance Criteria

    · Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

    · Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

    · Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

    · Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

    · Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

    · Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    Preferred or Specialized

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in journalism, communication, digital communication, marketing, public relations, or graphic design.

    Experience:

    Internship experience in a related field or experience in a similar field.

    Experience with videography, photography, and graphic design.

    Experience with project management.

    Experience with creating and managing social media content.

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Demonstrates creative ability in writing, promotions, and advertising along with strong editing skills.

    Demonstrates creative ability in applying graphic design to promotions, advertising, and digital and traditional communication channels.

    Knowledge of current trends and techniques in marketing, advertising, digital communication and social media.

    Proficient in word processing, Outlook, spreadsheet and presentation software. Experience with Illustrator or InDesign, Photoshop, and video editing software desired.

    Skilled in managing multiple projects for delivery in a timely manner and within department budget.

    Other:

    Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
