    Position Summary

    The Marketing and Communications Generalist is responsible for supporting brand identity and awareness through various print and digital campaigns; assist in generating and implementing marketing strategies and tactics to achieve organizational objectives; develop and maintain excellent working relationship with a variety of stakeholders; assists with writing, coordinating and producing various hospital publications; and creating and distributing a variety of marketing and public relations materials for internal and external customers. In addition, the Marketing and Communications Generalist will assist in managing the social media efforts, which includes building a library of content and links for the online brand.

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for promoting the hospital and its service lines; development and execution of marketing campaigns; writing and editing for newsletters, press releases, ads and brochures; special events planning; and video production.
    • Planning/implementing community programs and hospital events.
    • Assists director in conducting research, writing strategies for marketing and advertising campaigns, and overseeing execution and measurement of campaigns.
    • Writes and edits copy for internal and external publications, including press releases, articles, print ads, direct mail and radio, taking a lead role in producing high-quality publications and collateral materials.
    • Assists in managing still photography and video shoots with internal hospital clients and patients as necessary and provides support for TV and radio interviews by writing outlines and scripts.
    • Assists in maintaining external website content.

     

    Non-essential Functions

    • Perform other duties as requested
    • Assist in care / maintenance of department equipment and supplies

     

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related course work.
    • Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations field.  Prior experience in healthcare preferred.
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be a creative thinker, self-motivated and have the ability to thrive in a high-energy fast paced environment.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premier.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a plus.

    • Ability to plan and organize without supervision
    • Exhibits accuracy, integrity and flexibility
    • Work with and communicate with department director

    Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
