Marketing Communications Specialist jobs in Minneapolis, MN

Marketing Communications Specialist coordinates and implements marketing communications projects. Supports the planning and execution of trade shows, special events, and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Being a Marketing Communications Specialist creates consistent themes, messaging, and branding in all communication touch points, including advertising and social media. Sources and develops content and visual collateral for campaigns. Additionally, Marketing Communications Specialist tracks projects and prepares status reports for stakeholders. Liaises with the media, vendors, and internal sales and product teams. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Marketing Communications Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.       Education/Certification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Creative Writing or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience required for those without a degree.

      Experience:
      • Writing clearly and effectively for a variety of purposes, audiences and channels
      • Editing and proofreading the writing of others
      • Creating and/or executing strategic marketing and communications plans
      • Reaching diverse audiences through personalized and equitable communication
      • Building relationships with and supporting key stakeholders and department leaders
      • Providing exceptional customer service and training others in effective customer service strategies in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment
      • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
      Qualifications:
      • Effective when working with people with diverse backgrounds and identities
      • Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills
      • Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to create engaging, clear and error-free content for use across platforms
      • Understanding of basic web design principles and user experience best practices
      • Evidence of dependability, accuracy, attention to detail, critical thinking, meeting deadlines, and project management and problem-solving skills
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of students, staff, families, and external partners
      • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage sensitive and confidential issues, and/or refer issues to appropriate authority
      • Commitment to being a collaborative team player and working cross-departmentally to achieve common goals
