    The National Comedy Center, the United States’ official cultural institution and museum dedicated to

    presenting the vital story of comedy and preserving its heritage for future generations, is seeking a

    Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

    Based on comedy legend Lucille Ball's vision for her hometown to become a destination for the celebration of

    comedy, the National Comedy Center's exclusive collections, world-class exhibits, and cutting-edge

    technology showcase the time-honed creative processes that have elevated comedy to an art form. Visitors

    are educated, inspired and entertained by more than 50 immersive exhibits within the 37,000-square-foot

    attraction, which takes them on an interactive journey through comedy history, from early vaudeville to the

    latest viral memes. The non-profit National Comedy Center is located in Jamestown, NY.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and the Director of Marketing &

    Communications, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will support the marketing team by

    developing content for key platforms, including social media, email newsletters and websites, and support

    public relations initiatives, working with local and regional media. The Marketing and Communications

    Coordinator will also create marketing promotional and collateral materials for use by internal stakeholders

    and external partners, working collaboratively with in-house graphics team and external agencies and

    vendor partners, and help draft press materials.

    Prior experience should include digital and social media marketing and content creation. Strong writing,

    editing and project management skills are required, along with a preference for some graphic design

    capabilities and press release writing experience. The ideal candidate will also have some travel & tourism,

    hospitality or attraction industry experience, and a passion for comedy, pop culture and the National

    Comedy Center’s non-profit mission. Responsibilities include:

    • Develop content for National Comedy Center and Lucy Desi Museum social media platforms, working
    closely with archives, programming, retail and other departments within the Comedy Center.
    • Help manage the National Comedy Center social media platforms on a day-to-day basis.
    • Oversee day-to-day management of social media campaigns and ensure brand consistency.
    • Analyze and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media and email campaigns
    • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain social media followers.
    • Supervise all aspects of customer interaction with the organization via social media and online travel
    platforms to ensure positive customer experience.
    • Create content for National Comedy Center and Lucy Desi Museum websites.
    • Assist in writing content for National Comedy Center and Lucy Desi Museum e-newsletters and help
    manage email campaigns.
    • Help develop and write promotional material to promote group tours, museum membership, retail
    merchandise and private event sales
    • Draft press releases, coordinate press outreach and media relations.
    • Work closely with retail, group sales, programming and archives teams to support writing/content needs.
    • Help facilitate retail and media promotions and partnerships to drive museum attendance.

    Position requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or a related field,
    is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing and/or public relations/communications.
    • Passion for comedy, pop culture and the National Comedy Center’s non-profit mission.
    • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills crafting compelling content & messaging.
    • Very comfortable using social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
    • Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
    • Enthusiastic, optimistic and innovative with a passion to succeed.
    • Ability to thrive and be highly effective in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • A team player that is not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to help the team.
    • Must be adaptable to pivot readily, both in job responsibilities, as well as in the work environment, and have
    the willingness to be flexible in adapting to re-prioritized tasks.
    • Marketing and/or PR experience in travel/tourism, hospitality or attraction industry strongly preferred.
    • Experience with web and digital marketing analytics tools and CRM systems preferred.
    • Graphic design skills are a plus.
    • Event marketing experience, entertainment industry marketing experience and/or non-profit marketing
    experience is a plus.
