Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing Director to help lead our marketing efforts and spearhead initiatives aimed at increasing overnight visitor numbers, enhancing brand visibility, and maximizing revenue generation for the Skagit Tourism Bureau. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, leveraging digital and traditional channels to effectively engage target audiences, and driving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Development and Implement Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with the objectives of the Skagit Tourism Bureau, with a focus on overnight stays, driving visitor growth, increasing brand awareness, and promoting key attractions and experiences.
Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity to ensure consistency and resonance with target audiences. Continuously evaluate and refine brand strategy to maintain relevance and competitiveness in the market. This will include some creative development for advertising, social media, and other outlets as needed.
Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing initiatives, including website management, email marketing, social media strategy, content creation, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertising campaigns. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies to optimize digital marketing efforts.
Traditional Marketing: Develop and execute traditional marketing campaigns, including print advertising, direct mail, public relations, and events, to reach target demographics and drive engagement.
Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. Utilize insights to inform marketing strategies, identify opportunities for growth, and measure campaign effectiveness.
Partnership Development: Collaborate with local businesses, tourism stakeholders, government agencies, and industry partners to develop strategic partnerships and co-marketing initiatives that amplify the impact of marketing efforts and drive mutual benefits.
Budget Management: Develop, with the oversight and assistance from the CEO and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives and maximize return on investment (ROI).

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the tourism industry or related field.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies that drive visitor growth and revenue generation.
Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, with proficiency in website management, email marketing platforms, social media management, and analytics.
Exceptional strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite, creative suites ie Canva, Adobe etc.
Creative thinker with a passion for tourism and destination marketing, with a deep understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics.
