Being a Marketing Director oversees critical marketing functions, including market research, communications, and product planning. Utilizes technology and data to Identify changes in the competitive environment and enable responsive marketing activities. Additionally, Marketing Director develops budgets, resources, and teams to execute short-term and long-term marketing plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We are seeking an innovative Marketing Director to lead the promotion of our rapidly growing brands. This role is responsible for providing strategic, visionary, and ongoing leadership as it relates to the all The Ground’s web and social media presence, digital communications, and broader marketing efforts. Each brand within the Ground ecosystem has undergone thorough brand identity work and now needs a leader to ensure the execution of tone, feel and essence of each brand is communicated clearly. 


    The Ground is based in the beautiful Willamette Valley and is a business that connects farm, food, and people through hospitality. The Marketing Director will communicate the mission of The Ground and its entities, threading our voice and tone throughout consumer messaging.

    Requirements

    Responsibilities for Marketing Director 

    • Increase brand awareness and market share
    • Oversee branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns in partnership with marketing team, providing feedback and edits as needed
    • Gather and analyze information to identify new markets and customers, demand for products and services, and efficacy of existing marketing campaigns and strategies
    • Serve as a brand manager and steward, ensuring visual and message consistency across The Ground entities
    • Forecast, draft, implement, and oversee marketing and promotions budget
    • Analyze and track the performance of all projects across channels, evaluating the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, results including impact on lead flow, LTV and retention
    • Provide guidance and direction on individual unit marketing efforts
    • Cultivate inclusive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, external agencies, and vendors 
    • Collaborate with CRM leader to establish loyalty and track performance
    • Coordinate and partner with the other senior leaders on developing and executing marketing calendar for all Ground entities in support of the overall strategic plan
    • Create collateral for each business entity as needed, with support of marketing team

      

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, with at least 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or strategy
    • Efficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft programs
    • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent attention to detail, writing, and editing skills
    • Experience in project management and capability to handle multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines
    • Proven success developing and implementing marketing programs
    • Deep knowledge of key digital channels and initiatives including SEO/SEM, social media, content marketing, video, paid advertising
    • Able to effectively prepare and manage a budget
    • Ability to create and analyze effective goals and metrics
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while efficiently and effectively managing competing priorities
    • Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
    • Ability to travel locally as necessary
