Marketing Manager manages the projects and execution of marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and policies for all products and services for the organization. Translates the marketing vision into specific projects, action plans, and tactics. Being a Marketing Manager oversees critical marketing functions to ensure the information and support for programs are effectively delivered. Establishes robust data streams and analytical processes to track and Identify changes in customers, competitors, and business climate and enable responsive marketing activities. Additionally, Marketing Manager develops effective marketing teams and scalable processes to execute short-term and long-term marketing plans. Manages vendor selection, relationships, and budgets. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Marketing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Marketing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide customer assistance and have a working knowledge of Kroger’s Customer 1st Strategy
    • Drive Our Brand sales in assigned division through sales plan execution and enhancement
    • Manage, develop, direct and motivate merchandising representatives to achieve/exceed sales budgets
    • Implement all programs- new item introductions, retail pricing, price point executions, displays- and provide division feedback
    • Direct and manage Kroger service projects accurately and effectively
    • Maintain proper retail pricing to an acceptable level versus competition
    • Manage/supervise and train full-time staff
    • Oversee management/training of part-time employees (KOMPASS/Surge Reps)
    • Consistently and effectively communicate with division, Corporate Office and suppliers
    • Attend zone meetings to provide specific data on Kroger Brand products in order to increase Our Brand sales
    • Responsible for division expense management and control
    • Must remain qualified as an insurable driver

    MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • 4 year degree or high school diploma/GED equivalent with 10 years grocery and retail management experience
    • Communicate (read, write and speak) fluent English
    • Read, understand and insure implementation of plan-o-grams
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Computer/internet access with knowledge of email and web based applications
    • Adapt to advancing technology and computer solutions
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

    MINIMUM PHYSICAL ABILITIES: 

    • Must be able to:
      • operate motor vehicle unassisted
      • remain standing and/or walking unassisted for several hours at a time
      • lift, push or pull 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis and occasionally up to 70 lbs.
      • continuously reach up and bend down, reach in all directions and have unlimited upper body mobility
      • have unlimited manual dexterity
      • lift and extend 30 lbs. above the head, sometimes repeatedly
      • tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures (0-90 degrees)

    DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE:

    • Retail grocery store experience with strong merchandising and marketing skills
    • Typing/computer skills
    • Management/supervisory skills

    • Customer Focus – making Kroger customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; developing and sustaining productive relationships with Kroger employees as well as the suppliers that we represent
