Marketing Specialist
The Lehigh County Agricultural Society is the nonprofit owner and operator of The Allentown Fairgrounds and The Great Allentown Fair. The Great Allentown Fair is a six day entertainment and educational event attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and ranked in the Top 75 of its kind in North America. The Fair’s Marketing Department controls a $2.5 million entertainment budget, it also operates an in-house advertising agency. The department procures and negotiates corporate sponsorships, maintains media and public relations, and interacts with all other Fair departments.
The Marketing Specialist is a prominent role in the fair’s marketing department. This position works directly with the Marketing & Entertainment Manager and is essential in implementing the year’s marketing programs, advertising, and programming.
These assignments vary based on the ever-changing media marketplace.
Duties include:
· Develop, sell, maintain and coordinate all sponsorships
· Design ads, flyers, graphics, and other marketing materials
· Advertise and promote all shows and overall fair
· Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
· Work with media and artist’s management on strategies to promote and publicize the overall fair and concerts and work directly with press for onsite coverage
· Develop and distribute media kits
· Maintain the fair’s website and social media channels
· Develop, manage and track marketing budgets and spends
· Other day to day duties as assigned
Knowledge of:
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud with strong knowledge in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Microsoft Office Suites
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Well organized
· Negotiating, amending and preparing contracts
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously
· Creative writing and strong proofreading skills
· Artistic eye for marketing materials
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Working additional hours beyond regularly scheduled hours as requested by management
