Quality & Safety Manager
SUMMARY
This role would provide oversight and maintenance of the Quality System and Safety Program for the group of companies. Educating and training all stakeholders will be required along with ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Essential Quality Job Duties:
Maintain all current quality standards, add to and improve the quality system based on customer requirements and company objectives.
Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment.
Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
Work closely with Plant Managers and company employees on deployment of quality standards and procedures.
Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.
Support change request for existing products and processes.
Aid in the launch of new products, deploying quality tools to provide optimum value for the customer.
Track quality measures for each plant and drive continuous improvement activities across functions.
Essential Safety Job Duties:
Evaluating, assessing, and altering safety policies and procedures for the benefit of employees.
Analyzing accident reports, evaluating injury case studies, and leading root cause/corrective action activities related to safety recordable incidents and first aid incidents.
Perform monthly Gemba walks/audits at each facility to access safety concerns.
Perform monthly safety topic & updates for each facility.
Obtain a forklift trainer certification & train all new hires that need certified.
Working with the maintenance team to verify that all machinery and the buildings are of a high safety standard.
Performing initial safety audit/sign off on all new equipment installations.
Provide detailed training on any/all OSHA required training topics.
Have or obtain OSHA 30 Hour certification.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, industrial science, or other professional experience.
Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state, and local regulations.
Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.
Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control.
Attention to detail.
Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws and pose solutions to those flaws.
Interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle stress.
Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards.
