Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Responsibilities include setting up, maintaining and removing temporary work zones including but not limited to; warning signs, traffic cones/drums, portable changeable message boards and portable target arrows in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) to ensure the safety of the public and those working in a construction zone. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading of equipment onto work vehicles, as well as maintenance and building of equipment as needed.
