Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Core Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the preservation and traceability of materials through proper storage and identification techniques
    • Maintain adequate inventories of raw materials
    • Plan and execute material handling operations to ensure a smooth flow of material during production processes
    • Track, record, and analyze material-related defects and provide corrective and preventative action plans to ensure adequate vendor performance
    • Receive, store and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, measuring devices, materials and/or supplies
    • Ensure accurate assembly, upgrades, distribution and tracking of tool kits
    • Maintains database of damaged, worn out or missing equipment
    • Source and purchase tooling by securing best market prices


    Required Skills:

    • Basic PC Computer Skills
    • Ability to reach, grab, pull and stand for entirety of shift.
    • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
    • Aptitude and desire to learn

    • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others

    Job Requirements:

    • High School Degree or Equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
    • Physical Limitations: Work may require bending, lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, pulling, pushing, sitting, reaching, and standing for up to eight (8) hours per day.
    • Minimum 2 years Material Handling Experience
    • Minimum 2 years Supervisory Experience
