    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, purchasing management or a related field of study and/or 10 years in supply chain management including production planning, production scheduling, procurement, supplier performance/risk management and contract negotiations.
    • Currently hold (or willing to acquire) an APICS Supply Chain Certification, or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification, or a Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM) certification within 2 years of accepting position.

    ABOUT THE JOB!

    The Supply Chain Material Execution Manager will be located on-site and will be responsible for the execution of material planning, procurement, and supply base performance. The Material Execution Manager will be responsible for the performance of the site production planners, production schedulers, and buyers, while also serving as a leader on the enterprise supply chain team. The manager will also serve as a core leader on the site operations team to ensure success in delivering to our customer while balancing material costs and working capital requirements. The Material Execution Manager will ensure compliance to the FAR/DFAR procuring procedures and will work continuously to improve the material planning, procurement, and supplier performance management processes, minimizing material constraints and material price escalations.

    Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and procedures.
    • Subject Matter Expert in end-to-end supply chain and suppler performance management
    • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and digital material planning and procurement platforms
    • Experience in procurement optimization including network flow optimization, MRP, reorder point, Kanban’s, safety stock, inventory optimization and capacity management
    • Understanding of Lean tools, with a preference for hands-on deployment experience, particularly in areas of material flow, kanban replenishment, and visual scheduling
    • Experience with rough-cut capacity planning and SIOP best practices
    • Understands how to quickly identify and eliminate material delivery constraints
    • Demonstrated expertise in materials planning and procurement management in a low-volume high-mix environment.
    • Experience driving business continuity and supply chain risk mitigation strategies
    • Proven results in price negotiation, key performance indicators (KPIs), conflict resolution, supplier performance and risk management.
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, and CPSR guidelines and governances preferred
    • Experience executing a root cause corrective action process
    • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Lead the site materials team to support customer deliveries, while balancing cost and working capital goals
    • Partner with the enterprise planning and procurement teams to ensure that standard processes are deployed effectively at the sites
    • Serve as a core member of the site operations leadership team
    • Participate in the Lean transformation of the site, including the strategy development and execution for pull system and visual scheduling process deployment.
    • Create, implement, and adhere to yearly and quarterly targets for each key performance indicator (KPI)
    • Conducts internal monthly KPI review meetings, reviewing planned vs. actual performance
    • Create/implement/adhere to yearly and quarterly A3 milestone plans that drive process efficiencies and performance improvements
    • Conducts daily “Stand-up” meetings with buyers, production planners, and production schedulers to align on priorities
    • Implement and adhere to buyer / supplier weekly, quarterly, and yearly operating cadence
    • Create/implement/adhere to daily standard work for each team member utilizing the Gentex SC standard template
    • Manage the material planning and source-to-pay process in support of manufacturing operations across the organization to ensure standardization and best-in-class practices are implemented
    • Ensures burndown plans are in place(utilizing the ESC template) for past-due POs
    • Ensure compliance with Gentex purchasing policies and procedures, business code of conduct, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations
    • Develops sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
    • Grows and maintains relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
    • Evaluating material price increases while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
    • Communicates with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
    • Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
    • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
    • Execute according to supplier agreements established by strategic sourcing delivering within cost of good budget / purchase cost variance targets
    • Lead cross functional teams and manage supply chain goals improving value-to-cost relationship by focusing on total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, service to achieve cost reduction initiatives
    • Establish and evaluate procurement and supplier performance dashboards/KPIs/metrics for raw material and commodities category
    • Proactively engage, influence, and collaborate with the Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Legal and Operations teams to ensure alignment on business objectives and project plans
