Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Your responsibilities Job Summary

    To accurately provide inventory information for company controlled material stock. Monitor,
    organize and maintain inventory of company product at multiple branch locations.

    Job Description

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill
    • Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements
    • Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material
    • Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements
    • Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags
    • Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket
    • Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff
    • Perform verification of scrap
    • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
    • Assist quality assurance team in activities related to credits
    • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up
    • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements
    • Meet all other TKMNA employee attributes and competencies

    Qualifications:


    Minimum Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
    • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
    • Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management system
    • Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement
    • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry
    • Certification to operate material handling equipment, examples include forklift, sideloader, 4-directional lift, or cherry-picker

    Preferred requirements:

    • Some college course work, leading toward completion of degree
    • 3 years of material control or inventory experience
    • Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, etc.)

    Job Compensation

    $17.41 - $23.56
