Overview:
Hitran Corporation is seeking a skilled Materials Manager for our corporate headquarters in Flemington, New Jersey. The Materials Manager will oversee all purchasing functions for this location and our location in Nogales, Mexico. Buyers and purchasing associates in Flemington will report to the Materials Manager. Supplier negotiations, managing vendor relationships, assessing supply needs, and coordinating delivery schedules are essential parts of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate suppliers based on delivery, price, and services
-Negotiate stocking programs, supplier terms, and conditions
-Analyze financial reports to determine best suppliers and enact changes
-Establish corrective action for damaged or incorrect items or materials received
-Oversee all records of inventory for the company including cycle counting and physical inventory
-Supervise the purchasing employees and the material handling staff
-Fill in for staff whenever necessary, not afraid to lead by example
-Coordinate with sales, engineering, quality, and other departments to move product through the process
-Report Material KPIs to Top Management Team
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, materials management or related discipline
-Five years of experience in manufacturing environment with at least two years as a manager
-Strong knowledge of ERP systems and ISO 9001 experience
-Needs to be flexible, have great attention to detail, and high energy
-Proven experience as a leader
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
