Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Job Summary:

    This position is responsible for overseeing the quality of the asphalt produced by the company which includes testing, designing mixes, troubleshooting, and providing recommendations for mix changes.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Sample and test asphalt following testing schedule from ODOT
    • Ensure product quality standards are met
    • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
    • Perform all tasks in a safe and professional manner.
    • File documents from jobs internally
    • File paperwork with state agencies for specific projects
    • Communicate professionally with state agencies daily
    • Perform other work or special tasks assigned by management.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Proficient knowledge of the following preferred: ODOT Aggregate Level 1,2,3
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Dependability, reliability, and promptness
    • Excellent mathematical abilities (weights and measurements)
    • Dependable transportation and acceptable driving record

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Prior quality control experience in a construction or manufacturing environment highly desirable

    Working Environment and Physical Demands:

    • Must frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds daily
    • Must be able to stand, sit, climb, walk, and communicate effectively
    • Must be able to operate a vehicle in order to drive to various job sites
    • Must be able to reach/raise objects with hands and arms
    • Must be able to wear the necessary PPE required for specific jobs (Hard hat, eye protection, steel toe boots)
    • Must be able to work in all conditions including indoor office/lab environments, outdoor quarries, sand pits, etc., rain, cold, and heat.
    • Must be able to work extended hours beginning in the early morning and late nights; weekends possible.
