Materials Director directs operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Estimates material requirements using data and analysis of orders, inventory levels, economic trends, and supplier sources to develop long-range plans to ensure the required flow of materials. Being a Materials Director coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Materials Director typically reports to a director. The Materials Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage demand and production scheduling for single unit with multiple customer(s) / product(s).
· Support new product/program launches.
· Works closely with customers, team leaders to determine daily production requirements.
· Use parameters to drive inventory levels within manufacturing unit.
· Leads improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
· Continuous improvement team involvement. Member of product transfer teams.
· Works with Materials Launch team for new product / program launch.
· Formalizes Weekly Forecasts/Sales and Operations planning data.
Required Skills:
· Broad based supply chain management and process development knowledge.
· Planning and scheduling, Demand Management, Cum Management, Customer Measurement systems, Inventory Management, Material systems and working knowledge of operations, accounting, purchasing and other related production functions

Required Education:
Bachelor Degree. Knowledge in Supply Chain Management, Accounting or Engineering.
