Estimates material requirements using data and analysis of orders, inventory levels, economic trends, and supplier sources to develop long-range plans to ensure the required flow of materials. Being a Materials Director coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Materials Director typically reports to a director. The Materials Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Job Summary
The Director Supply Chain is responsible for developing, implementing, measuring, and leading all facility supply chain strategies and efforts. This position is responsible for meeting key hospital strategic objectives and translating the vision of the future of KH Supply Chain into an actionable strategy for Supply Chain at the hospital level, e.g. focusing on supply chain excellence internally. The role is also responsible for understanding and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical department directors on all non-labor expenses to ensure delivery of lowest total cost of supplies, equipment and services while supporting the clinical, functional, operational and quality criteria necessary to fulfill the hospital mission.
